In order to ensure road traffic and safety, the obligation to equip their vehicles with anti-slip chains or other similar anti-slip means (snow blankets) is IMPOSED on the owners of cars of all categories. The above obligation concerns the time period from October to April of each year at the national or regional level of the country. Violators of this shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs 26 and 27 of article 81 of the Road Traffic Code (law 2696/1999).
